Cassie’s VBAC!

Where do I begin to describe how grateful I am for you. After having a traumatic cesarean birth in April 2020 where I couldn’t even have my doula there, I felt hopeless. When I started to do research on having a successful VBAC, the advice that kept getting iterated was finding a doula that specializes in VBACs. I interviewed a few doulas but there second I met Katy, I knew she was the one. She was with me every step of the way. When I failed my glucose test, she talked me down and figured out a way to avoid the 3 hour test. When I tested positive for Strep B, we got a game plan for when I went into labor.

She made me feel so calm the weeks leading up to labor, which I believed was crucial. The second she met me at the hospital, I trusted her through the stages of labor. The entire staff knew Katy and she knew how to advocate for me to stay relatively intervention free. Even when labor was getting long and I thought I was probably going to have another cesarean, she just point blank said “that’s not going to happen”. When it was finally time to push, she talked me through it all. I couldn’t even believe I was holding a baby on my chest.  I finally got that redemptive birth. I truly owe it all to Katy.

Thank you for everything! I will be forever grateful for you.  Best, CK
